For both of the video clips I first used iMovie to cut the clip down to part of the scene which I want. Both of the clips are 30 seconds long. Afterwards I dragged the clips into garageband and muted the original clip so I am able to record the dialogue for the video. Before I recorded I wrote a script so i know what I am saying and I don't mess up the words and it is able to be in sync with the video. For the recording, I recorded on garageband on a laptop because I was able to record in a quiet room so there wouldn't be any background noise. Each time I messed up i paused it and started again from where i paused the clip. With recording the dialogue I also watched the video while recording so i can see if i am in sync with the video. For the foley sound effect for the soundtrack i also used garageband to record it because I believe it was the easiest way to record and transfer the recording onto the recording on the mac. The foley sound effect which I recorded was stamping my feet and walking for the video for both of the final soundtrack. We had to create two different soundtrack and one of the videos didn't have to have dialogue in it but both of the clips which i chose had dialogue in it so I had to do dialogue for both of the videos. Garageband is a good software to use because it was simple to use and that when you record and transfer from the laptop too the mac.
The first soundtrack which I done was a scene from Parents Trap. I believe that the mood of the video changed when i added the voice over and the music in the background but there is a meaning to it and I believe that it is a shown effectively from the music which was chosen. The music was calm and it related to the music in the original clip. As i went along i didn't change anything, I stuck to what I wrote in the proposal. I recorded the voiceovers by myself because it fit the video well and I believe it only needed one person for the dialogue but I believe it went well and the sync of the voiceover with the original video is mostly in sync and you are able to hear the dialogue along with the music and the sound effects which is good because you are able to see the meaning and the mood of the final soundtrack.
The second soundtrack which I done was from Toy Story 3 where they were on the train. It was all western and country. The mood and meaning from the soundtrack I believe is communicated effectively with the type of background music I chose for the soundtrack. It fit well with what is happening in the scene where they are in the county side on a train. My practice work matched with the proposal that I done and most of it was in sync with the original video. It all went well and it didnt change the meaning or the mood from the film.
